Did I tell you??

Did I tell you that Dallin's class at school raised salmon,
attended an event by the river with thousands of other 4th graders
in order to release their salmon, and he brought home the dead ones?

Did I tell you that Cameron created this abstract work

of art and I can totally see the dinosaur? (can't you?)

Did I tell you that Kenley's work of art was this Mother's Day

Lemon Cream Cake with Raspberries?

Did I tell you that Elizabeth attended her first dance this last weekend and a young man who VERY CLOSELY RESEMBLED her math teacher asked the question:

"If you had a time machine, where would you go?"

Elizabeth's response: "Well, I don't know, I've never thought about that."

Did I tell you Cameron squirted a hose at the fire station?
Did I tell you this little girls sleeps at least 7 hours a night?

I probably don't need to tell you that she gets LOTS of love.

What you probably don't know is that my tiny, baby sister (she's 23) is having a baby on Thursday. I won't go into the "I remember the day she was born" thing. But I do.

In a baby prediction contest back in December Kenley guessed that the baby would be a girl born on May 21st. Her doctor just scheduled a C-Section for Thursday. Kenley was more than thrilled she predicted correctly. Now if the weight she predicted is correct, I'll be impressed! We'll see.

We are all so, so excited to see your little one Sarah and David.

When I opened the front door this morning and found a delivery man on my front porch, I think I might have gasped a little bit. The flower arrangement was gorgeous. I felt a flood of emotions as I thought to myself how nice it is to have some recognition for my efforts. Taking care of 6 children can be very, very overwhelming. Adjusting to six children has been a humbling experience. I've had moments of complete exhaustion and frustration and I realize it's not going to end any time soon. The other day after a particularly difficult day Brent reminded me that

"they won't be so little and needy for long."
"Are you saying that so I'll remember to make the
most of this time while they're young or reminding
me to "hang in there?" I asked.
"Both," he replied with a smile.
I am currently flower sitting this gorgeous arrangement. That's right, they aren't for me. Our neighbor Linda wasn't home to receive her Mother's Day gift. So, for now I'm enjoying the arrangement. Flowers are nice, but having happy, healthy children who love to be home and together as a family is all I need.

To the Mothers and Women who have dedicated
themselves to loving and nurturing,
Happy Mother's Day.

Recreating a Memory

Elizabeth-4, Dallin-4 months, Kenley-2
They were so little and cooperative at this photo session.

I love this picture of my three little ones.
I decided to recreate the memory.
This session wasn't as easy.
Zero cooperation

Elizabeth-14, Dallin-9, Kenley-11
Still cute though.

Dallin: You're just doing this for the money aren't you?
Cameron:Why are you doing it?
Dallin: To make mommy's life easier.

Keep working boys!!

Apple Muffin

(Participants were not forewarned as to the reason for the picture)
How do you eat your mini Apple Muffin?

Small bite from the side?

Just like her dad....

Shove the whole thing in?

Top first?

Break it in half?

With a measuring spoon?

I just flip it over and save the puffy top for last.

Oh the interesting things I think about..

Sandra's Apple Muffins
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. allspice
2 cups applesauce
1 cup nuts (optional)
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and applesauce. Combine dry ingredients and add to wet mixture. Bake mini muffins at 400 degrees for 15-17 min. or until toothpick comes out clean. (Regular sized muffins need about 20 min.)

The Look of Shock

After going to the mailbox today
my face looked a little like this:

and maybe a little like this:
What piece of mail could possibly have
caused such a response?
?
?
?
?
?
?
?
An evening of dining and dancing by the ocean
sounds enjoyable to me.
Wanna go babe?
But 20 years....
ARE YOU SURE?????????????

Emma's Blessing Day

I sat down with my new Photoshop program,
I created a simple page,
I think I have room for improvement,
I crossed my fingers it would work,
I think I'm hooked.
