You hid it where????

There are OH, SO MANY advantages of living with a gourmet chef. (also known as Kenley) She enjoys cooking and that makes me smile with delight.

Saturday evening she started her delightful creation she was creating for dinner on Sunday evening. A Triple Chocolate Layered Cheesecake.

Oreo crust, butterscotch, milk and white chocolate layers

topped with cream and chocolate drizzles.

IT WAS DELICIOUS!

We shared it with our dinner guests and ate about half of it. By the time Tuesday evening came there was only one piece left. As I was busily cleaning up after dinner, I heard the girls whispering to each other. I didn't catch the whole conversation, but I did hear,

"Of course she's going to eat it,

she's a pregnant woman with cravings."
They hid the last piece of cheesecake. I can't believe they didn't trust me. They could hardly contain themselves. They thought they were so clever that they couldn't resist telling me where they had hidden it. You'll have to do better than that next time, that was going to be the first place I looked.

In the frozen peas package???? It's still there and it's so tempting.

Where do you hide your stash of goodies?

Oh Debie that is so funny. I didn't know that about Kenley. Anderson says he wants to be an amazing chef someday but I have yet to see any desire shown in the kitchen. I think you might just have to eat it anyway and show them!

Ha! That cracked me up! I love desserts so I imagine when my kids get old enough to cook, they'll probably hide treats from me too!

Oh that is so funny! I loved the "pregnant woman with cravings" part. I hide mine in the cupboard above the stove.

Debi, I just read the other day that a pregnant woman needs somewhere between 350 to 450 EXTRA calories a day. So i say go ahead and make that your extra calories for the day.
If I want to hide something needing refrigeration I wrapped it really well and put it waaaay in the back of the lower fruit and vegetable drawer. No one ever gets in there because there are so many items that should have been thrown away weeks ago. You really do need to make sure it's wrapped with a few layers and if you have an empty tofu bag stick it in there for the final touch. I have never actually bought tofu but I do think from time to time that it would be the perfect disguise.

That does sound delicious--no wonder it needed such a special hiding place! Tell Kenley to post the recipe on her blog.

I hope my girls find a passion for cooking. I have lost mine.

I hid things way up high. One of the perks of being tall!

In the frozen peas!? I definitely wouldn't have looked there, although that cheesecake does sound delicious I probably would have looked everywhere too!

Oh my goodness--your girls! What dolls. Someday they too will understand the crazy cravings of an expectant Mommy! This made me remember how my Grandpa would hide candy-bars all over the house and in his vehicle because Grandma would confiscate them if she found any!

Since I'm sitting here eating a piece of Costco cake, I apparently don't hide my treats anywhere, except maybe on my hips!

You have taught your girls well!

My hiding spot is in a little basket on the top shelf in my pantry.

My hiding place was in the glass dishes, but my kids discovered it long ago and many times ask where all the candy went that was in mom's cupboard.

That is the funniest. I heard nothing but good about this cheesecake too. Hide worthy.

Oh my Goodness! That is the funniest... I can't believe she made that cheese cake. I don't like cheese cake but that one sounds sooo good. Doesn't look to good in the bag of peas - though!
How are you feeling? When is she due?
Where have you been? I haven't heard from you in over a week. Did you have your baby & not tell?

I wish I had me a gourmet cook! And I can't tell you where I hide my goodies because my kids sometimes check out people's blogs.
