My name is Debie and I love magazines. This is one of 4 similar stacks found throughout my house.
I love the smell and the glossy pages. In my single days it was GLAMOUR or SELF, now it's Better Homes or Cottage Living. When I get a new magazine in the mail, I get a heart flutter. Enough is enough, I'm going to go through them, pull out what I want, organize it into catagories and toss the remainder.

The other evening I was upstairs and Brent was downstairs. I called down to him to see if he would bring my magazine up from my desk downstairs. He walked into the room and handed me this:
Oh No. In those nanoseconds, I felt a sinking feeling inside. I had been talking about my brand new Cottage Living magazine that had just come that I was so excited to go through. I am grateful for the Ensign and need to put it at the forefront of my mind and read it first. This experience really put things into perspective for me. My lovely magazine are good, but this is better.
Other organizing I have been working on. Planting around our Magnolia tree.
The Pantry. Done, but it will need it again next month.
Bills and files. Done. One day we'll go totally paperless on this.
My sister, Sarah, is the organizing queen and she has inspired me.
What are you working on this Spring?

Horay for organization!
PS. please dont throw away your magazines. I will gladly take them off your hands for you. David's parents are coming down at the end of May, so if you are done with them by then, you can give them to mom and dad and they can make sure they get to the Jones'. Thank you.
Nothing...
You're so good Debie! Do you want to come help me organize my house? I have the same piles of magazines. :) And as far as what I'm working on this Spring...just the usual Spring cleaning, probably a yard sale (or 2), rummaging through other people's yard sales looking for the great find, attending many baseball games (I have 3 playing again this year), and hopefully FINALLY refinishing some furniture for ME. :)
So I have to know, did Brent think that was the magazine you were referring to, or was he trying "teach you a lesson?" Either way is hilarious.
Yours is the third blog that I've read about people doing amazing organization over spring break or this week. It gets me so motivated but it'll have to wait for next week when I have no birthdays or sickies to deal with!
Movie Queen, we must be dealing with the same stuff. I have sick kids and my daughter's Birthday this week too!
Debie, look at you go with the organization. I'm so impressed. I love the Ensign and I love that picture of our new 1st Presidency on that one! Glad you are getting so much done. I need to get the ball rolling!
I have a big organizing project to owrk on, but I am lacking the motivation and inspiration I need to finish it. Maybe I will post about it!
That sounded like an AA confession. "Hi I'm Debie and I am addicted to magazines..." Maybe Brent could be your sponsor. Whenever you are having withdrawls- he could be there to calm you down and hand you the Ensign!
I Love it! Now- What to do about my addictions...?!?
I'm just like Heather.
But look at you and your sweet organizational skills! Love the Ensign story.
I love the way it feels to have an organized pantry. You are so right though, it will need to be done again next month. (At least that's how it works at my house.)
I love your stack of Mags and how you enjoy looking at beautiful things. I do as well. Oh and the planting project looks great.
I am trying to organize as well. It seems endless!
I organized my bills and office too recently. I hate organizing, but I hate being unorganized...I wish for that scene in Mary Poppins where it all organizes it's self.
I live for organizing. That's what makes my heart flutter :)
You have a magnolia tree???? I am jealous. My grandmother lived on Magnolia Street in Burbank,CA and had Magnolia's in the front yard. They bring such happy childhood memories to mind. I think I need to get a Magnolia tree too.
I could have written this post. I can't throw away magazines, just can't do it. I have a bookshelf full in my office and boxes of them downstairs and every so often I dig them out and go through them. I laugh at the things I earmarked and wondered what was I thinking! Funny how our tastes change over time. But still there is such good stuff in them. I do pull out my favorite pages and keep a scrapbook. It was my handbook when I was remodeling.
Cottage Living is my favorite magazine too. And when the Ensign comes...and another magazine the same day I am ashamed to say I am torn at which to open first.
Sarah-They're all yours. I'll give them to mom.
Alicia- He knew. I could tell by the smirky look on his face at the time and the confession later.
Yay for spring cleaning! Glad you had a fun (and productive) spring break!
I am so excited.
I'm also a magazine junkie, I had to give it up cold turkey when we moved. My 'paperless' project is also under way.
