"Is daddy going to have to sleep on the floor,
because he won't fit in the bed with you and
your big tummy?"
and last night before Brent gave me a blessing and he was talking to the children about the significance of this and asked why they thought it was a good thing. One unnamed child, who should know better, said,
"Well, because mommy's so old."
No, but yes. It's my fault because I talk about it often. When I showed up at the Doctor's office for my first OB visit when I was pregnant with Britton I glanced at my chart. Right there, boldly written on top for everyone to see was a stamp that read,
"ADVANCED MATERNAL AGE"
I couldn't believe it. I was only 35, but apparently that's the magical age when the risk factors increase. They offered my genetic testing and made sure I knew the risks. I politely declined the tests. I'm ready and feel good. Thanks everyone for the good wishes.

We're off today on the Spurgeon Family epic journey. We're headed to see some wonderful, historic sights that are part of Church History.
We're also going to see:
My fabulous sister and her hubby
My old roomie, Jen, and her family
and THIS GIRL who is performing at the
BYU Stadium of Fire 4th Celebration.
(We've got one very excited teen and tween.)
Don't worry about me in the car for 10 hours, I've got the list of activities all figured out.
1. Separate trouble-makers
2. Insert DVD
3. Press play
4. Repeat when necessary.
Have a great Independence Day weekend!!

Have a super fun time everyone. We will miss you terribly. Tell Miley hello and give sis Sarah a hug from us too.
Your spicy, never old. Your so young Debie. Be quiet. I do remember feeling that way with Mattie though. It's just odd feeling.
Be safe everyone and please get along in the car for your parents.
If you are all good, when you get back, I will make some over the top ice cream sundaes.
When we have a layover in SLC on Thursday I will wave to you! Drive safe and have a great time (Love you list of activities don't you just love living in today)
How on earth did we ever handle road trips with kids before DVD players. I know it's possible because Don and I did lots of them, but they were usually anything but relaxing.

About being "old"---trust me you're not! I was the same age as you when I had #6 and at the time I did feel kinda old. Now I look back and think what the heck? I was not old! (I may be now -- but you are not old in your 30's. Pregnant or not! No way no sir! And that is all I have to say about that!. Jera
Kids say the darndest things! I can't wait till I get the "over the hill" remarks. I'll be sure to have a wooden spoon handy.
