My Parents are in for a Real Treat!!

Update: The Madness Continues! But it's getting better.

At the beginning of October I posted a picture of my three little boys sleeping in my bed. They always start out the night in their OWN beds. At some point during the night, and it's always different, they migrate into our room.
This picture was taken yesterday morning, four months later, and the madness continues.
We take some responsibility for this occurance. If we would have started taking them back when they first started, I think they may not keep coming. Maybe not though.

My parents are staying with the kids when we go on our trip.

They are in for a real treat.

Any tricks or secrets to stop this in the next two weeks?

I don't know any tricks for this, but if you find one let me know. . .My bed looks like that--minus one in the mornings as well. What to do? Sometimes I just curl up next to then and go back to sleep myself!

We have never allowed our kids to sleep with us but Lily used to wake up often and ask to sleep in our room. I decided to try something.

I took her to the dollar store and let her pick out a bunch of things. I put them in a basket and told her that each night that she stayed in bed, she could pick something from the basket. It seriously only took a couple of days for her to stay in bed all night. So it worked for me. Maybe it would for you too.

How do you get any sleep with all those boys in bed with you?

I sleep horribly when kids are in my bed so unless their sick, they get a quick snuggle and then their sent back to their rooms.

Marilyn's idea sounds great. Hope it works!

I have no tricks, but maybe by the time you get back home, your parents will have solved it. Wouldn't that be worth the trip.

I love snuggling up to my kids, but when it starts to get old:

I put a blanket on the floor next to our bed and explain that is where they have to sleep if they come in. (I don't do this until they are old enough to understand.) After one, or a few, night/s on the floor they decide it's not worth it to get out of their own cozy bed.

Good luck!

let that bed be their bed and purchase something new for you and brent to put in a different room? most likely an unreasonable idea...but it is good to dream :) !! there is a good chance that your dear parents will solve this problem for you -- YAAHHHH for grandparents!

My kids do that too sometimes. I put up a baby gate in my my boys doorway, so that Porter can't get into our bed. Tyler climbs over it when he wakes up. I can't sleep when my kids come into my bed, so I wake up and move them back to their own beds even if it is 3 a.m.! I don't know this is helpful. Good Luck. I agree with Jan, hopefully when you get back, your parents will solve the problem! :)

Oh my. Nothing like getting a few elbow jabs to get you out of the bed in the morning.

Where do you fit in the bed? It looks full to me. I love snuggling with my kids too, so it would be hard for me to send them to their own beds.

Tuck tape and a lock on their door! Just kidding! Make them sleep on the floor! Make it as uncomfortable as possible and thier bed nice and wonderful!

hmmm. interesting problem? I have always struggled with this, but never had to worry about it. My kids always sleep in their own beds for babysitters and stuff, so they may break themselves of it? set out sleeping bags for your mom to hand over to them incase it happens.
