Picture Perfect Weekend

Three shots! and 24 lbs.
(mostly in his belly and cheeks)
Britton's 15 month check went well.

Here he is a few hours later with his signature CHEESY SMILE!

Saturday morning Elizabeth performed a solo at a choral recital.

"Soldier, Soldier, Will You Marry Me?"
Here she is right before her performance. Cool as a Cucumber. I don't get it, she's amazing. She was critiqued by a lovely lady, Mrs. McFadden, who offered advice on how to use more expression and dynamics in her singing.

Saturday evening, Brent and I went shopping. (Not one to ever be left out of a shopping excursion, Elizabeth tagged along.) Brent loves to go shopping with me, and I love him coming. Here's a snippit of a conversation we had.

Me coming out of the dressing room trying on clothes to find the "wedding outfit" I say,

"It's nice and I really like it, but it's not right for the wedding."

Brent: "Well, it looks so nice on you, you ought to get it anyway."

SCORE NUMBER ONE

Next outfit choice Brent goes, "That looks really cute too."

Me: "I like it, but it's not weddingy"

Brent: "But it's such a great deal and it looks nice, just get that too."

SCORE NUMBER TWO

This is why Brent and I have FANTASTIC shopping trips!

Just for kicks I decide to try on a hat or two. I don't mind telling you that I am totally willing to eat my words. I FELT LIKE A MILLION BUCKS TRYING ON THESE HATS!! With the right outfit maybe I could pull it off?
This dark gray wool hat with a black satin ribbon was really quite nice and probably appropriate for the occasion. I couldn't do it though.
What's your favorite way to shop?
Husband? Alone? With or without kids? Not at all?

Love the pictures of Britton--so cute! I am a SHOPPER. I love to go alone, with my mom, or with KC, but kids can kind of put a damper on things. with them, I just buy and try on at home and then return. . .dressing rooms are to much trouble with both of them. However, Stella by herself, is a great shopper and very complimentary(which is nice)!

Why does Elizabeth look part...something? Greek? Latin? I don't know, something. I've never been able to figure it out.
Love the hat, you could totally pull it off. Love Brent's comments. What a guy. I DO NOT go shopping with my kids, or even my husband, although he is always willing to let me buy whatever I like. I just can't have people waiting for me, I feel too rushed and can't enjoy it. I shop solo mio.

Alicia: Elizabeth was the only "White Girl" cast in a play at school featuring Hispanics. She definately doesn't take after my side. When I was a kid my hair and skin were practically transparent.

Megan: Don't you think the fitting rooms with kids would be a lot easier if they didn't put the crawl space under the doors?

This was so great. I love the face of Britton, what a funny bunny. Elizabeth is great and I get it as to why. And you darling look absolutely Royal. Should have went with it. Brent is a keeper by the way.

You look totally CUTE in a hat! I can't believe that your hubby gives that much insight into your wardrobe- (Will he come with me- I could use the help!) Britton and his cheesy smile are adorable!

You look great in the hat and Britton belongs on a magazine cover! As far as shopping goes....I have to have Donald with me. He has picked out most of my wardrobe for me. I am not one for shopping and he LOVES it! We usually end up taking the kids because I am too cheap to pay for a sitter, but in the end I wished I had just payed out the 20 bucks for some "peaceful shopping"

Yo. I dont take my kids shopping, mostly because I dont have any. You should probably get the hat, when else will you have a chance? Mom said that Julie isnt wearing a hat, so you won't be too out of place. Britton looks cute with his cheezy smile, I wish you wern't all going to be gone when we come there in a couple weeks. David's parents are going to be in San Antonio that weekend too! Bad luck.

Yeah, these Spurgeon boys are definitely good for shopping. Matt loves going shopping with me, especially when I'm in the mood to just try stuff on. It's great! Britton's such a cutie. Gotta love the cheeks!

I love shopping with my husband also. Sometimes love to do it myself! Just depends on my mood!
I think you should've boughten the hat! Way cute! Did you ever find a dress?

Britton is so cute! Don't you hate shots? The tears are the worst part for me-breaks my heart.

I love the hat-you should wear it!

I love shopping with my girls for my girls. It's like dressing life size barbies. Poor girls have to try on a million outfits and then do a fashion show for Jim when we get home. It's so fun having girls.

I love shopping with Jack. He always wants me to buy stuff after I try it on. Plus he's totally honest with me and tells me if it looks good or bad. Glad you had a fun time shopping with your hubby! He sounds great!

i have told you this many times...but elizabeth is so impressive! she is a wise soul, for sure. and -- as for the shopping: i am in awe over brent's comments. my husband usually says things like: "is that the most useful item of clothing?" OR "wouldn't you rather buy some new hiking gear, or something?" OR "is it wrinkle-proof for traveling?"

Debie,

they would be WAY better without the crawl space as would the pews at chuch. Becaue, I've had kids crawl to the back of the church before and it's difficult to get them out!
