Sweet Nothings!

Oh the sweet things they say!
Often, my kids say things to be gross, (especially the boys) to shock, to test the waters, sometimes they repeat things that they have no idea what they mean. Yes, I have washed a few mouth out with soap. But the sweet, sincere things they say are my favorite.
A few weeks ago, one child, who shall remain anonymous on request, asked the most heartfeld, sincere question. Honestly, I don't even remember how it came up, but they said,

"You have to kiss someone before you get married, right,
Just to see if there is any magic?"
We talked a little bit, we'll talk more when the time is right, but I love the open communication that we have. I never want to act shocked or like it's embarrassing to talk about anything. I'm grateful to have had the MAGIC talk, and teach my feelings and also what our leaders teach.
In their mind, LOVE is MAGIC.
Don't forget to tell the ones you love that they bring Magic into you life!

I love it when kids say things like that. That is so cute.

Yes I was in LaGrande Or. having lunch at a McDonalds, when I saw your look alike. I mean it she looked just like you and she had a little boy with her that she called Dallin. I was so excited to see someone from home in another place that I yelled to her from my table (she was at the table across from me) What are you doing here? She gave me the wierdest look and said, "I'm having lunch." At that moment I realized that it was not you. I was so embarassed. For the record I think you must be the nice one.

Kim, I'm laughing out loud at your experience at McDonald's. That is hilarious! :)

This is a great post. You are right, love it magic, and your child is very insightful, which tells me that he sees his parents have the magic spark! Really cute! Thanks for the reminder too! :)

This is so sweet. There have been a few times when my oldest has said something that I have wanted to smile at but I try to take it "seriously" so she doesn't get embarrased. I agree with you, it's important to keep the lines of communication open. Thanks for sharing this most magical story :)

I love it when our children can ask us anything! The joys of growing children....with inquisitive minds! Love is still magical for me!

I'm hearing the song "Do you believe in magic" in my head. You know, the one by The Lovin' Spoonful. So sweet!

I love the new header with all the pics. And love is magic isn't it? I have seen it make things dissappear.
