How Many Spurgeons............?

How Many Spurgeon have graduated from Preschool? Cameron brings the total to 4.This little boy is Kindergarten ready and can't wait.

How many Spurgeons are excited about our shop that will be completed this week?

We all are, but I think one in particular that is looking forward to filling it with tools and such.

How many Spurgeons loaded and ready for the camping trip?

All 7.

How many Spurgeons enjoyed the pretty drive to Teancum Timbers?

Just 2, the rest were engrossed in a movie.

How many Spurgeons does it take to build a fire?

Everyone sure wanted part in this one.

How many Spurgeons took off with the hammer and the axe to blaze a trail?

One!! Why is it the sharp, dangerous things are so appealing?

How many Spurgeons enjoyed the fresh air and time together?

It's sure nice to get away together once in a while. I've realized we need to do this more.

How many of us enjoyed our hot dogs cooked over the fire with chili?

Why is it they taste so much better this way?

How many Spurgeons froze their tails off in the cold tent?

I think I saw every hour of the clock all night.

How many Spurgeons got a strange look from the nice lady that worked at Ray's Drive-in in Dayton when I asked her if they had "lite" dressing?
Just me! I suppose if everything is fried, "lite" dressing shouldn't be a big concern.

Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

We sure did.

That was really cute and original. Was that your ward camping trip or just a trial run? I wonder how long it will take "Rays Dive In" to leap into the 21st century and get "lite" dressing.

Camping trips are a lot of work, but the pictures and memories are worth it! I can't believe how green it is up there. Of course, I think everything is green compared to here. I love that Britton was asleep before you even left. Good luck with completing the shop! Matt's jealous. We're so excited to see Elizabeth this week!

That looked like a great time for the family. Love the presentation. And the lite dressing comet. That is my favorite spot in Dayton too. We use to go there for High School Football/Basketball games. That is how long that has been there.

You endured the camp out and we are so proud. Thanks for the offer today for Mattie. I am just still so very exhausted feeling. I hope I can somehow shake that. My head feels like its going to pop. But I am better though.

Good job on the shop. I can see it from the back yard. It will be so nice for storage and for all the honey do's that will be presented..

I'm so bummed that we didn't get to go! It sounds like everyone had a fun yet cold time. You are a trooper for going!

Thanks for posting a positive picture for a family campout. We are venturing out this weekend on one of our own. I have mixed feelings about it, but I will try to stay positive and enjoy the time together. Thanks for sharing.

I did freeze my tail off.

I had...

2 shirts
2 jacket
1 thick blanket
1 thick thick thick sleeping bag and 1 pair of warm fuzzy socks. I still froze to death. I enjoyed dinner. Although I didn't like the fried apple.

I am still bummed that you forgot the S'mores!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I helped to do a trail also.
I had sooooo much fun besides the freezing night. That would of been the funnest camping trip if we had an R.V. to sleep in and some music going on outside our tent like the Neilsens. I also enjoyes the trip there. It was the trip back that we watched a movie.

By the way Ray's drive-in was so yummy! Especially the marshmellow smothie. It tasted like creamed custered and Ice Cream.

We're planning on several campouts this year, but since we're strictly wimpy, we've been holding out to see if something resembling summer ever shows up on the wet side...

(Hi to all of my cousins hanging out here!)

Looks like you guys had a great time camping. How fun, despite the cold. I can't believe that you forgot the stuff to make S'mores. That comment from your girls is hilarious. I love Ray's Drive-In! How exciting that you will be getting a shop.

Haha, we're similar when it comes to camping. I do love nature and camping isn't too bad, but I really love my clean and comfortable bed! Is Rays Drive In a tradition for your family? It was for us, we just have to stop there every time we pass through Dayton and it's been more than 10 years for me. It's so fattening, I think I can only afford it about every 10 years :)

It looks like you guys enjoyed a wonderful trip. The pictures are great.

Loved the pictures (Where are you? Taking all the pictures like the rest of us Moms?) I so wish we could have gone. I was so excited (this is one girl who loves camping), but Davis had baseball games Friday night and Saturday morning and I'm still recooping from sinus infection. :( Looks like you had fun - besides the cold sleepless night and no lite dressing. :)

Looks like you had fun! I am sure your family made many, many wonderful memories. Spending time together as a family is the most important thing in the world...even if it means a cold nights sleep :)

Looks like a fun weekend. We are thinking of using "my" camping equipment and going camping sometime. I going to learn to like it.
